Planning Application and Commercial Development
JB Planning Associates form part of a multi-disciplinary team appointed by the South East England Development Agency (SEEDA), charged with bringing forward strategic planning proposals for the regeneration of the existing settlements of Queenborough and Rushenden. A Masterplan for regeneration has been prepared and is currently in the process of being adopted by Swale Borough Council.
The Practice has been heavily involved in advancing the first planning applications to deliver the objectives of the Masterplan, culminating in the submission of a planning application early in 2007 for the first phase of commercial development (known as Neatscourt Phase 1), in tandem with the preparation of the Masterplan.
The application comprised the first part of a new relief road for Rushenden and some 80,000 sq m of mixed commercial floorspace with a regional headquarters distribution centre, offices, petrol filling station, hotel and other business uses.
The Practice led negotiations with the Local Planning Authority and co-ordinated the submission of evidence to support the grant of planning permission. Since the grant of consent, the Practice has co-ordinated the discharge of the various pre-start planning conditions, and has continued to advise the team on implementation up to and including the commencement of on-site works.
