JB Planning Associates have submitted, on behalf of Taylor Wimpey and Persimmon Homes, a hybrid planning application to Stevenage Borough Council for a mixed-use urban extension to the west of Stevenage.
The application is for 1,500 new homes, including 30 per cent affordable homes, along with a new primary school, neighbourhood centre, residential care home, employment area, public open and amenity spaces (including a new cricket pitch), supporting infrastructure and access improvements (including a new underpass of the A1(M)).
This is a major application, that will deliver the largest new development site identified in the Stevenage Local Plan, and is of fundamental importance to the Plan’s delivery, particularly meeting housing, employment and education needs over the Plan period.
The application proposals have been developed in accordance with a shared Vision and Framework Masterplan, prepared in collaboration with representatives of Stevenage Borough Council and informed by a design review process and public consultation.
