Update (April 2021)

The planning application for Potters Green, West Stevenage has now been submitted. It was registered by Stevenage Borough Council on 7 April 2021 and is available to view on the Council’s website by clicking here. The Council are inviting comments on the planning application, and details of how these can be made are provided on the website. The application is expected to be determined by the Council later this year.

Update (November 2020)

On 11 September 2020, the Potters Green virtual public exhibition website was launched to provide local residents and businesses with information on the emerging proposals for Potters Green; a sustainable new neighbourhood on the western edge of Stevenage. Comments on the proposals were invited over a three week period extending to 2 October 2020.

Taylor Wimpey, Persimmon Homes and their appointed project team are grateful to all those who visited the virtual public exhibition, and for the feedback received. The comments have been helpful in the further formulation of the planning application proposals.

In response to the comments and questions received, a Frequently Asked Questions document has been prepared to provide answers from the project team and also to assist interested parties by clarifying where to look for further information in the planning application once submitted later in 2020.

Potters Green, West Stevenage, is the largest strategic allocation within the adopted Local Plan (2019), to provide a new neighbourhood to the west of the town.

Taylor Wimpey and Persimmon Homes, who control the site, are proposing to make a planning application in December this year to deliver an urban extension in accordance with the planning policy requirements for the site. It is a fantastic opportunity to create a vibrant, sustainable new neighbourhood, meeting the housing needs for the Town and the supportive infrastructure this requires.
