Change of use and conversion of buildings to form 160 new dwellings, a shop/café, and construction of 27 new dwellings.
The Former Domestic Site has been judged of being of national importance by Historic England due to it being one of the best-preserved examples of early 20th Century military air bases in England. JB Planning Associates was successful in obtaining planning permission and listed building consent in December 2011 for the refurbishment of all of the listed buildings within the site for residential uses so to secure their long-term future.
Permission was also secured for new dwellings on site to finance the renovation of the historic buildings. The success of the application was a result of an extensive and iterative design process, with JB Planning Associates managing the project of a multi-disciplinary team of consultants and engaging throughout with the Local Authority and statutory consultees.
