Client: Gascoyne Cecil Estates
Architects: Brooks / Murray Architects
Local Authority: Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council
Project Description:
Demolition of an indoor riding arena and redundant agricultural buildings, conversion of a listed barn, and construction of replacement buildings for business use.
Case Study:
After more than 10 years a new lease of life has been given to a range of redundant farm buildings in the Green Belt including a Grade II listed barn. Working in conjunction with the client and the project architects, JB Planning Associates promoted a sensitive conversion scheme which provided for the removal of some unsightly buildings. The scheme was approved by the local planning authority in 2008 and despite an initial lack of interest by potential occupiers a tenant eventually emerged. Work began in earnest in 2017 to restore and convert the buildings and the development is now complete and occupied.
