Redevelopment of former Police HQ and Council offices for residential dwellings and a residential care home.
Acting on behalf of a consortium, JB Planning Associates were lead consultant in a multi-disciplinary team preparing a planning application to redevelop a large urban brownfield site, which had previously accommodated Hatfield Police station, and Council Offices.
JB Planning Associates worked closely with the Borough Council and local residents in developing proposals for new housing and a care home. Four town houses replaced a utilitarian 1960s extension to the office building, whilst the original building, an attractive 1930s office, was retained and refurbished. The police station was replaced with a 65-bedroom care home and 10 semi-detached dwellings.
JB Planning Associates were successful in convincing the planning committee to grant permission, in the face of late objections from the County Council on the demand for care homes in Hatfield.
